Wilier TriestinaSupersonica SLR

Wilier's fastest time trial frame, developed in about nine months with Groupama-FDJ and Stefan Küng after the team signed with Wilier in August 2023. Wilier says it is almost 16% more aerodynamically efficient than the Turbine SLR. Stefan Küng debuted it at the 2024 Tour de Suisse. It has an integrated seat mast, internal cabling, room for 28 mm tyres and the option of made-to-measure titanium or carbon extensions from a forearm scan. Wilier lists it under Time Trial / Triathlon, and the range includes triathlon builds.

Our verdict

Overall

out of 100, average of 6 categories

A WorldTour time-trial bike at the top of the market, for racers who want Wilier's fastest frame, Dura-Ace on every build and optional made-to-measure extensions. It is heavier than the Turbine SLR, has no storage, comes in only three sizes, and the cut-to-length seat mast makes it awkward to resell or pack.

Good to know

  • Design

The design moves away from the truncated Kammtail tube profiles of Wilier's earlier TT bikes.

    Source
  • Design

After the first road test, Küng reported flex in the seat tube and head tube. Wilier fixed this with revised carbon layups in the existing moulds.

    Source
  • Aerodynamics

Wilier's target was a 10% aero gain over its existing TT bikes. In its wind-tunnel comparison with the Turbine SLR at 50 km/h, the Supersonica is almost 16% more efficient.

    Source
  • Fit

Wilier offers custom extensions made from an optical scan of the rider's forearms, in 3D-printed titanium or laminated carbon.

    Source
  • Compatibility

The fork and rear triangle take tyres up to 28 mm, and the integrated seat mast still allows saddle-height adjustment.

    Source
  • Racing

Küng won the closing time trial of the 2024 Vuelta a España on a prototype, and the bike was officially presented at the Paris-Nice team time trial in March 2025.

    Source
  • History

Groupama-FDJ signed with Wilier in August 2023 and Wilier started the project straight away. Küng rode a first prototype in early 2024, asked for changes, and approved the second prototype.

    Source
  • History

Küng first raced it in the Tour de Suisse opening time trial in June 2024. At first only his L/XL size was made; XS/S and M followed in early 2025, so the team's other riders stayed on the Turbine until then.
