Sources

Specs, geometry, builds, claimed weights and prices come from the manufacturer's own product pages, geometry charts, technical documents and press kits. Each bike page lists its sources at the bottom, and every build links to the page its price was read from. Prices are the manufacturer's suggested retail prices in EUR, USD and GBP as published (VAT included, US prices without sales tax), never dealer or sale prices.

Some data can only come from elsewhere, and is labelled as such: real-world weights are what reviewers measured on a scale; aero figures come from published multi-bike wind-tunnel and track tests, each shown with its conditions and only compared within that test; recalls and service bulletins come from the brands and from official safety authorities; race bike counts from the published counts at Kona, Nice and Roth; exchange rates are ECB reference rates. Reviews are links to independent outlets and channels, not a source of specs.

If a value isn't published by the manufacturer, it is left blank rather than estimated. Verdicts and scores are our opinion, drafted from the bike's own data against a published rubric, and they are relative to the other bikes of the same type in the database at the time they were scored.

How it is checked and refreshed

The data lives in versioned, schema-validated files. Every change goes through a review that checks the value against the source link before it is published. Once a month the whole catalog is re-checked against its sources: prices (every change is kept as price history), new builds and model years, new generations, discontinued bikes and their successors, new parts, new reviews, and whether older bikes' scores still hold against newer rivals. The most recent data change was on .

Manufacturers change specs and prices without notice, so a value can still be out of date. If you spot one, the “Report a mistake” button on every bike page sends it straight into the review queue; the next refresh verifies it against a source. Missing bikes can be asked for at request a bike.

Quoting and citing

You are welcome to quote figures and tables from this site in forum posts, articles, videos, reviews, fit reports and comparisons, as long as you name Aero Addicts and link to the page the figure comes from, for example:

Source: Aero Addicts, aeroaddicts.bike/bikes/canyon-speedmax-cfr

Link to the bike, component or comparison page rather than copying a whole table: pages update when prices or builds change, and the link lets your readers see the source of each value. For a pair of bikes, the compare page (for example Canyon Speedmax CFR vs Cervélo P5) is the best link; for a shortlist, a buyer's guide; for a single number, the bike's page and its sources.

Screenshots of a table or chart are fine with the same credit. Please don't present our verdict scores as test results: they are an opinion, not a measurement. The data is not released for training AI models or for building AI answers that replace a visit; see the terms of use.

For tools and assistants

Every page is also available as Markdown for agents and scripts: request it with an Accept: text/markdown header, or fetch /api/markdown?path=/bikes/<slug>. Pages carry structured data (schema.org Product, FAQPage, ItemList) for search engines. Please fetch each page at most once per run and keep the attribution above when you show the figures to someone.
