SpecializedS-Works Shiv TT Disc

Time trial2026Shiv TT Disc (first disc-brake Shiv TT) ↗Disc brakesUCI legal

The Shiv TT Disc is Specialized's UCI-legal time trial frame, built around flat-mount disc brakes, electronic-only internal routing and a one-piece bar/stem aerobar. Specialized currently sells it as a frameset module (frame, fork, cockpit and seatpost) rather than as a complete bike. Unlike the earlier triathlon-specific Shiv Disc, it has no integrated hydration or storage system.

Our verdict

No overall score: there's no complete-bike price to rate

A UCI-legal TT frameset module for racers who want a light, proven WorldTour platform with a threaded bottom bracket and few service headaches. It is an older design with no hydration or storage and a narrow pad-reach range, so size it right from the start, and Specialized has raced its successor as a prototype since July 2026.

Good to know

  • Design

Specialized says the disc-only frame is about 500 g lighter than the rim-brake Shiv TT it replaced, partly through a one-piece bar and stem that saves around 200 g.

    Source
  • Integration

Specialized's spec sheet lists no integrated hydration or storage for the Shiv TT, unlike the triathlon-specific Shiv Disc with its Fuelcell system.

    Source
  • Compatibility

The frame takes electronic groupsets only. It works with 1x or 2x setups, and the derailleur hanger on the seat tube can be removed for 1x. Shifting from the basebar is possible.

    Source
  • Maintenance

Specialized cut setup time to roughly a third of the previous model's.

    Source
  • Racing

At launch it was raced by WorldTour teams Bora-Hansgrohe and Deceuninck-Quick-Step.

    Source
  • Racing

Vincent Luis raced his long-distance seasons on a Shiv TT with Wattshop aerobars, Roval 60 mm front and disc rear wheels and a SRAM drivetrain (Slowtwitch, November 2025); it is Specialized's only triathlon or TT frame on sale, and Luis won the 2026 Ironman World Championship in Kona. No published report describes his Kona bike in detail.

    Source
  • History

Launched in July 2019 and first raced in the Tour de France stage 2 team time trial in Brussels; retail availability followed in December 2019.

    Source
  • Versions

Specialized currently sells only the S-Works Shiv TT Disc Module frameset; complete bikes are not listed on its US, UK or German sites.

    Source
  • Versions

A successor is on the way: since the July 2026 Tour de France team time trial Remco Evenepoel has raced an unreleased Shiv TT prototype (UCI prototype sticker, FACT 12r carbon, a seat tube that closes the gap to the rear tyre and extends past the seatstays, an integrated saddle clamp, a UDH rear end). Specialized calls such pre-production bikes "Project Black" and had not presented or named it by October 2026; its teammates still rode this Shiv TT Disc. The module sold today is unchanged.
