ScottPlasma RC
The Plasma RC is built on Scott's sixth-generation Plasma frame, a triathlon-only design that drops UCI constraints in favour of deep tube shapes, a wide fork with a brake shroud and an adjustable rear-wheel position. Hydration and storage are integrated: a refillable bottle between the top and down tubes, a gel bottle above the bottom bracket, a cockpit nutrition box and a rear storage compartment. It is offered in five sizes with a Syncros integrated cockpit.

Our verdict
Overall
out of 100, average of 7 categories
An Ironman bike for larger riders who want a long, low position and one of the most complete onboard setups in the catalog: refillable frame bottle, gel bottle, cockpit box and rear compartment. The design dates from 2020, the seat angle is fixed, and the Syncros cockpit and seatpost are proprietary, so it asks more of your mechanic than simpler rivals.

How the geometry rides
The Plasma RC in size M against the middle size of 42 other bikes: tendencies from geometry, not a ride review (how to read this).
- Wheelbase1,011.7 mm39.8″
shortestlonger than 86% of 42 bikeslongest
Long wheelbase: tends to track straight and feel calm at speed.

Long chainstays: adds stability and room for a rear wheel with wide tyres.
Good to know
Design
A six-position rear dropout lets riders move the rear wheel closer to the seat tube to suit different wheel and tyre combinations.
SourceAerodynamics
The front wheel sits deliberately far from the down tube. Scott found this second-fastest position is quicker in real riding, where the steered wheel is rarely straight.
SourceFit
The arm cups adjust widely, but Triathlete found the stock pads stiff and slightly slippery. They note the bike suits large riders who want a long, low position.
SourceIntegration
Triathlete found the box-style bottle easy to refill compared with bladder systems. It holds about 100 ml less than the Canyon Speedmax's bladder, and the bike still has room for a between-the-arms bottle.
SourceHistory
The Plasma 6 was launched in October 2020 as a tri-only bike; unlike the UCI-legal Plasma 5 it does not conform to UCI rules.
SourceHistory
At launch the range was the Premium (SRAM Red eTap AXS) at $14,999.99 and the RC (Ultegra Di2) at $8,999, plus a $6,999.99 frameset.
SourceVersions
Scott lists two complete Plasma RC bikes, the Ultimate (SRAM Red AXS) and the Pro (Shimano Ultegra Di2), both on the Plasma 6 HMX frame, plus Plasma RC LTD framesets.
