Time trial2022TT1 (first disc-brake Colnago TT bike) ↗Disc brakesUCI legal

Newer generation: TT2 (2026). Specs and test results here are for this earlier bike. What changed

Colnago's first disc-brake time trial bike, built with UAE Team Emirates and first raced at the 2022 Giro d'Italia. The monocoque frame uses the deeper blade-like tube shapes allowed by the revised UCI rules, low horizontal chainstays and a slim front end, with hydraulic hoses routed inside. It comes as a frame kit with Colnago's own basebar and a 3D-printed integrated bottle cage, in three sizes. Since mid-2026 it has been succeeded by the lighter TT2.

Our verdict

No overall score: there's no complete-bike price to rate

A WorldTour-proven time-trial frame for UCI racers who will source their own extensions and parts. Only three sizes with a fixed seat angle, bottle-only storage and a frame its lighter successor now outclasses make it a better buy at a discount or on the used market than at full frame-kit price.

Good to know

  • Design

Colnago says it is the brand's first time trial bike with disc brakes, which also let it hide the hoses inside the frame. Thru-axles add stiffness, and the weight penalty compared with the old K.One is small.

    Source
  • Design

In Colnago's TT2 white paper the TT1 frame weighs 1,279 g, the fork 530 g and the seatpost 295 g (size S, unpainted), for a 2,785 g frame kit including the cockpit and hardware.

    Source
  • Aerodynamics

The frame uses the deeper, blade-like tube and fork shapes permitted by the updated UCI guidelines, a reduced frontal area at the head tube and low, horizontal chainstays.

    Source
  • Fit

Colnago's online spec table gives a 72 mm BB drop for size S, while its downloadable geometry chart lists 70 mm for all sizes; the chart value is used here.

    Source
  • Integration

The bottle cage is 3D printed and moulded to the frame shape. It takes a dedicated Colnago bottle shaped for aerodynamics and grip at speed.

    Source
  • Racing

Tadej Pogačar rode a TT1 to win the final time trial of the 2024 Tour de France in Nice. His bike was lightened with a 145 g Darimo seatpost and SRM carbon cranks.

    Source
  • History

The TT1 made its race debut in the opening time trial of the 2022 Giro d'Italia with UAE Team Emirates.

    Source
  • Versions

The TT2 replaced it in 2026. Colnago claims the new frame kit is about 550 g lighter and slightly faster.
