CanyonAeroad CF SLX
Newer generation: 4th generation (2026 update) (2026). Specs and test results here are for this earlier bike. What changed
The lower carbon grade of Canyon's fourth-generation Aeroad, sold alongside the CFR with the same tube shapes, the same FK0137 fork and the same adjustable CP0048 PACE Bar, but a 1,050 g frame (CFR: 960 g) and the earlier SP0077 seatpost. Canyon's CF SLX pages don't mention the UDH dropout the updated 2026 CFR gained, and the frame keeps the pre-update seat tube lengths. Every build comes with a power meter and carbon wheels, from 105 Di2 or Rival AXS up to Dura-Ace Di2 or Red AXS, at roughly half the CFR's price; TOUR measured the CF SLX 8 Di2 at 204 W, close to the CFR.

Our verdict
Overall
out of 100, average of 7 categories
The sane way into the Aeroad: the CFR's shapes, fork and adjustable PACE cockpit, a power meter and carbon wheels on every build, and TOUR measured the 8 Di2 within a few watts of the CFR, for roughly half the money. The frame is 90 g heavier, keeps the older SP0077 seatpost without the 2026 UDH dropout, and the proprietary cockpit rules out standard parts.

Compatibility
Canyon's component tables list 32 mm tyre clearance for both frame and fork. The CP0053 RACE Bar sold as an aftermarket part is stated to fit bikes with the CP0048 PACE Bar, including the current CF SLX.
SourceHistory
The fourth-generation Aeroad launched in July 2024 in CF SLX and CFR grades (frameset codes R107 and R108); the CF SLX 8 AXS, 8 Di2, 7 Di2 and 7 AXS were the launch builds, with the CF SLX 9 models added later.
SourceVersions
Canyon's CF SLX product pages describe the frame as the fourth-generation Aeroad and list the SP0077 seatpost, a removable front derailleur hanger and no UDH dropout; its seat tube lengths (441-621 mm) and standover match the pre-update CFR frameset Canyon still sells, not the June 2026 CFR (432-612 mm, SP0105 seatpost, UDH). Stack, reach, angles, head tube, chainstays and wheelbase are the same across both grades. Canyon's press release for the 2026 CFR update names the CF SLX only for MyCanyon upgrade options and as compatible with the aftermarket CP0053 RACE Bar.
