Argon 18E117
The E117 is Argon 18's entry into dedicated triathlon bikes, sitting below the E119 Tri+. The 2025 redesign brings over ideas from the E119: hydraulic brakes built into the frame and fork, fully internal cables and, on most builds, an integrated cockpit with 51 Speedshop extensions. Unlike the E119, Argon 18 describes it as UCI-legal. A bolt-on bento box and a frame-mounted toolbox are part of the frameset, but there is no built-in hydration reservoir.

Our verdict
Overall
out of 100, average of 6 categories
A sensible first dedicated tri bike that still lets you race UCI time trials, with integrated brakes, a bento box and a frame toolbox. Pick a build with the integrated cockpit: the cheapest build has far less pad stack adjustment. There is no built-in hydration, and the brakes and seatpost are specific to the bike.

Good to know
Design
Argon 18 says the E117 is UCI-legal and borrows from the E119 and its Electron Pro track bikes. The brakes are built into the frame and fork, as on the E119.
SourceFit
Builds with the integrated cockpit have far more pad stack adjustment (about 124 mm) than the Shimano 105 build with Profile Design aerobars (about 29 mm), so the cheapest build is less adjustable.
SourceIntegration
The toolbox is sized for two tire levers, a multi-tool, a CO2 head with a 16 g cartridge and an inner tube (TPU preferred). Tools are not supplied.
SourceCompatibility
The frame and fork accept 140 mm rotors only. Tires up to 700x30c fit, provided they measure no more than 32 mm, and rims can be up to 35 mm wide. With a front derailleur the frame takes 50-58T round rings; single-ring setups can go to 64T.
SourceRacing
The redesigned E117 is on the UCI's list of approved framesets, approved on 3 December 2024 in sizes XS to XL.
SourceHistory
Argon 18 presented the all-new E117 alongside a revised E119 at the Ironman Women's World Championship in Nice in September 2024, as part of its 2025 triathlon range. It is pitched at age-groupers buying a first dedicated tri bike and at TT riders.
SourceVersions
The redesigned E117 replaces the E-117 Tri Disc, which launched in 2019 as a disc-brake version of the rim-brake E-117 with a conventional cockpit and flat-mount brakes.
