Argon 18E-119 Tri+
Replaced by Argon 18 E-119 Tri+ Disc
The original E-119 Tri+ was Argon 18's top triathlon bike from its 2016 collection until the disc-brake E-119 Tri+ Disc replaced it. It was designed for triathlon only, outside UCI rules, with a front brake hidden in the fork, a cam-pulled rear brake mounted horizontally, and Argon 18's Oneness integrated cockpit. Frame-integrated hydration, nutrition and repair-kit accessories were part of the concept. A lower-grade E-119 Tri used the same shape.

Our verdict
No overall score: there's no complete-bike price to rate
An early 'superbike' with a hidden front brake, an integrated cockpit and frame-integrated hydration and storage. Now superseded, it is held back by rim brakes, 25 mm tire clearance and a proprietary front end and brakes that make servicing and packing fiddlier than on a conventional tri bike.

Good to know
Design
Argon 18 says the extra clearance around 25 mm tires stops the brakes rubbing and speeds up wheel changes, since the brakes need no quick-release mechanism.
SourceHistory
Argon 18 revealed the E-119 Tri+ with the E-119 Tri, E-117 Tri and E-117 Tri+ for its 2016 range.
SourceHistory
The E-119 Tri+ Disc that replaced it in 2021 switched to disc brakes with integrated calipers, and Argon 18 claimed it was 10 W faster than this rim-brake version.
SourceVersions
For 2019 the E-119 Tri+ got a new Black Matte / Grey Gloss paint job with otherwise unchanged hardware. Argon 18 positioned the E-119 Tri, with the same shape and a cheaper carbon lay-up, below it.
