PinarelloBolide TR

Triathlon2024Bolide TR / TR+ (first triathlon Bolide, 2018) ↗Disc brakesDiscontinued

The Bolide TR was the cheaper of the two triathlon Bolides Pinarello launched at Kona in October 2018, built from Toray T700 UD carbon instead of the T1100G used on the TR+. Both took the Bolide TT and reworked it for non-drafting racing: disc brakes, a 78° seat angle, a 35 mm taller head tube, an 8 mm lower bottom bracket and storage boxes on the frame that Pinarello says also cut drag. It was sold as a frameset and in SRAM Force and Shimano Ultegra Di2 builds, and no longer appears in Pinarello's range.

Our verdict

Overall

out of 100, average of 6 categories

The way into Pinarello's triathlon Bolide when it was on sale: the same steep, tall tri geometry and frame storage boxes as the TR+, in cheaper T700 carbon. It has no integrated hydration, only four sizes, and builds that were never fully specified, so it is now mainly a used-market option.
