Italian rider from Verbania, son of former Olympic sprint canoeist Marco Ganna, who built his engine on the track: he is a six-time world champion in the individual pursuit and won Olympic team pursuit gold in Tokyo. On the road he is a pure power time triallist, world champion against the clock in 2020 and 2021 and a regular Worlds medallist since. In 2022 he set the UCI Hour Record at 56.792 km in Grenchen, and he has won stages at both the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España.
